A colleague recommended A Random Walk Down Wall Street to me last year, and it changed my outlook on saving and personal investment. In particular, the sections on “The Charters” who use Technical analysis to find patterns in the noise was equal parts enlightening and charitable, wherein the author attempts to defend the “Charter” talking point of how the charts are the ultimate form of democracy - not everyone has access to company metrics but they do have access to the charts!
I decided to make this piece by drawing these random walks, and generating random tickers. The end result is convincing, but complete nonsense.
